A guide to growing tulsi from 2 different methods

How to grow Tulsi from seeds?

If you want to plant a tulsi in your backyard or garden from a seed, then you have to follow these steps:

  1. Fill a flower pot with soil
    The first need you need to do is take a flower pot and fill it with some high-quality soil. Leave about 2.54 cm space from the top of the pot and add water to make the soil stay moist and hydrated.
  2. Sow the seeds
    Then after that, you need to sow the seeds in the flower pot about 0.64 cm beneath the soil. Don’t sow too deep as the seeds of the tulsi are very small and they didn’t get enough moisture if sow too deep. Gently press them down on the soil with a small tamper so that they stay on top of the soil.
  3. Water the seed
    After sowing the seeds, you need to water them on regular basis and make sure that the soil remains moist. The seed will start to grow in 1-2 weeks and use a spray bottle to water the seeds as they are delicate and small.
  4. Placing under sun
    The tulsi plant needs at least 6-8 hours of sunlight so place them in an area where there is a way of direct sunlight.

How to grow Tulsi from rooting in water

  • First, you need to cut a stem from a mature tulsi plant. The stem should be 4-6 inch and remove all the leaves from the bottom side of the stem.
  • Then fill a container with water and place the cutting stem in them. Change the water every day to avoid the growth of bacteria.
  • Place the container with the tulsi plant in front of the sun or direct sunlight as tulsi need direct sunlight to grow better.
  • After you notice that the tulsi plant is growing, then you need to transfer the plant from container to pot.
