Fenugreek is a common spice used in our Kitchen. They are used to add flavour to different kinds of food. But, fenugreeks can do much than making our foods tastier. Preparing fenugreek oil at home
You need just two ingredients to prepare fenugreek oil at home- fenugreek seeds and carrier oil. You can choose any carrier oil, such as coconut, olive, or jojoba oil.
The method:
- Take fenugreek seeds and grind them to make powder.
- In a glass jar, take olive oil, coconut oil, or any other carrier oil.
- Heat the jar containing oil using double-boiler method. Take a pot with boiling water and keep the jar in it to boil it. Do not boil the jar directly.
- Pour this hot oil on the fenugreek powder and mix it well.
- Keep the mixture for 48 hours, so that it can infuse.
- Strain the oil after 48 hours and store it in a dark, cool place for a month.
- You fenugreek oil is ready to be used.
Non-heating method:
- Take fenugreek seeds and keep them in a clean jar. You can also take a little crushed fenugreek seeds for making the oil.
- Keep any carrier oil, such as coconut, jojoba, or olive oil in the jar.
- Seal the jar and keep it in a clean and dry place for 4-6 weeks. With time, the oil in the jar will become darker.
- After 6 weeks, strain the oil and keep the oil in a fresh bottle. You can use this oil if you keep it in a refrigerator. When the oil stars getting cloudy, it is not fit to be used.
How to use Fenugreek oil
You can use this homemade fenugreek oil like any other normal hair oil. To get the best results, you should use lukewarm oil. You must heat the oil using double-boiler method. You can part your hair and apply fenugreek oil using your finger tips or cotton balls. While applying, you should massage your scalp softly. Leave the oil for 30 minutes and then wash your hair using shampoo.
